New Year, New Me!

How is that working out for you?

It is a proven fact that almost all big changes you make to your daily life tend to fail and you revert back to the old you in no time at all.

That is why you should never Diet! Yuk! What an ugly word! I have learned to hate it for all the right reasons. Being on a diet is like being on a holiday. It’s a big change from your everyday life but it doesn’t last very long. 

So what is the key to being healthier long term?


I think the answer is in the question...LONG TERM! You need to get it embedded into your mind that you want to live a long and happy life. And if you can do that, then you are most of the way there! The rest is pretty simple too, but may take some trial

and error to get it right which is always fun when we are talking about food! 😋

So here I am, writing this blog on New Years Day. I have just scoffed some leftovers which are still hanging around after Christmas and I have done zero exercise all day. But I have already made some great choices as this is already embedded in my brain! I wanted to lay in this morning after staying up late to see the new year in. Instead, I chose to get up and get cracking! I opted for the cold turkey from the leftovers with pickles rather than the bread and cheese. I have also chosen to go on a long walk as soon as I get this post finished. Then later for Tea we have chicken Fajitas. I’ll hold on the sour cream and have more veg with mine. It’s not even a conscious choice anymore, it just comes naturally. I must admit, it has taken well over a year or so of practice to get it this easy but it all started with me drinking one more glass of water each day. 

So if you are fed up, feeling like you are rounder and annoyingly tired after the festive fun, start by just drinking one extra glass of water. Or if you are a little more up for it, I have created a calorie tracker and an exercise planner which can be found HERE. Before you know it, you will be choosing happy without even knowing it and living your best life!
