Just get on with it?

5am club Today!

Have you noticed that it's the first thing I want to say in my blogs when I actually make it into the club? It just goes to show that I have a huge sense of pride doesn't it. It really does feel good. But I want to talk about something else with you today.

Today I want to talk about motivation. I guess it could fall into the same category? But there is more to motivation that jumping out of bed at 5am.

What motivates you?

When you think about this question. It seems easy to say the usual answers......money, family, happiness, love, helping others. But motivation runs much deeper than this. Motivation is a balance of many different drivers that can be interchanged depending on what your current situation is. This is something which my clients and I discuss in detail in our coaching sessions. We drill down under the surface and look at what your true motivators are. Once we know exactly what drivers you use, we can really focus on how to channel them and get amazing results.

We can also very much be demotivated. There are usually some very good reasons for this. Some can be flipped over and motivate us. For example...you don't want to get up and do the housework. You are busy doing something else (like watching something on YouTube perhaps?) But you know that if you get up and do what you need to do, then you can relax again afterwards and it will be even better, because you know that you have done your tasks and it isn't weighing over you anymore. It will in fact be worth your while just doing the thing that you don't really want to do! The reward feels better than the task....so a demotivator turns into a motivator. I use this one A LOT!

There are so many situations which you can use this example. Another one being THE PHONE CALL! How many of us have a phone call to make that we put off? But once it is done, we feel so much better! It really is amazing what we put off when we know deep inside that it will be better once the task is complete...

So Today I have a task for you (and me!)

Do the one thing you have been putting off for a while. Just get it done! You know it will be a weight off of your mind once you do!

Let me know in the comments how you get on...

Have an amazing Day!
