How do you organise your day?
Plan it to within an inch of it's life? Wake up and go with the flow? Or somewhere in between?
I am lucky enough to work standard business days and hours with most weekends off (I work one Saturday in four).
Me, I think I actually like the planning and organising more than the doing. Generally as I don't have a great deal of things to organise on a daily basis I use a planner and make a to do list. This usually just includes things like: ironing, sort out new car insurance, or appointments that are scheduled for example: doctors @ 10.30. This way suits me and is sufficient for my needs.
However over time I have realise that I have a certain 'style' when I need to organise my day more specifically. At weekends Saturday is my get things one day, so that I can have a do nothing day on Sunday guilt free, and I organise these days with military precision! As you all know being organised and prepared is all in the fore thought, therefore I plan my day out the night before, because I even plan when I need to wake up, lol.
I don't just use a to do list I prefer to time my activities and task throughout the day, this way I know what time I will be finished and can then do the things I want to, like more planning or nothing :) You should always plan time for you and the activities you enjoy or even some time to sit and be in the moment.
For example:
I have tried not to be so structured with my organising and not use the timings due to the fact that I get quite stressy when I'm not on track but it just didn't feel right and I found that I got distracted or forgot things. Ultimately, it's good to try new things and mix it up a bit but use what works best for you!
Great Post Beverly. This has given me a great idea for a weekend planner! :)
